“Wisdom comes not from age, but from education and learning.” ― Anton Chekhov

Aside from our enthusiasm for pet nutrition and an eco-lifestyle, we are also passionate about understanding and respecting the human-animal bond. We want all pets to have positive and safe experiences – and part of that goal is education…specifically educating the other end of the leash. We are dedicated to being part of community efforts to increase awareness and education in regards to animals. Throughout the year, Paws on Cook hosts seminars on a variety of topics, from health and nutrition, to behaviour and exercise. In addition to seminars, we also offer books and articles in the store.

the Yellow Ribbon Campaign

Something we are particularly excited to be part of is the Yellow Ribbon Campaign for dogs. The Yellow Ribbon Campaign began as an idea on the internet to help out people that have dogs who, for a variety of reasons, need space while out in public. The idea is simple: a yellow ribbon tied to a dog’s leash means please stay back and give this dog space. These dogs need space while training, recovering from surgery, or being rehabilitated. Please spread the word!

Books and Magazines

We have just begun to set up our education center in the store. We will be including book and magazine titles that we continuously recommend to customers. Our own copies of these titles have well-worn edges and notes in the margins, so we are sure they will become your favourites as well.
